What Livefish is. A different
kind of communications consultancy,
Who we are. Founded by marketing communications consultant Kirby Kaufman, Livefish is a collaboration of experienced communications and creative professionals preferring to work with organizations demonstrating cultural and social value. What we do. We help clients better understand and communicate with audiences by developing key insights and using them to plan and implement communication programs. Frequently we are called on to help increase visibility, affect public opinion, improve positioning in the marketplace, increase memberships or enrollment, increase "findability" online, raise funding, or better enable transactions or services. Our specific role is driven by the needs and the internal resources of each client and can vary significantly. It frequently involves some or all of the following: - formulating the key questions that bring into focus priorities - conducting the necessary research and analysis to answer the questions - developing strategy, program tactics and budget - implementation - measurement of effectiveness How we work. First and foremost we are a professional consultancy and not an agency. This important difference allows us to enter organizations large or small with the very focused final goal of providing expert counsel that will enable them to better interact with their audiences. Our team is entirely scalable. We don't have the financial overhead of a commercial agency and do not serve as agents who profit from the purchase of media time or for the production of broadcast advertising. We personally engage each organization with the mindset that we are part of its leadership team with a real stake in its success. Our past experience helps us to understand the organization intimately, its goals, its various audiences and what can be achieved through more effective interaction with those audiences. Then, drawing on nearly twenty years of professional marketing, communications, public relations, advertising, and interactive media experience, we develop a plan. Strategy. Tactics. Technologies. Timing. Budget. Implementation. Asessment. Who we work for. Livefish works primarily with culturally and socially oriented enterprises in the United States and western Europe. Clients that we choose to engage and in whom we have a genuine personal interest. We frequently decline assignments from clients that don't fit well with our expertise or interests. Our past experience ranges from extensive audience research and communication projects for world-leader institutions such as Johns Hopkins University to helping small clients such as an independent Florence-based master painter classify and present a catalogue of more than two thousand works of art to collectors and journalists worldwide. The common thread among our diverse experiences is the objective: expanding the dialog between individual and enterprise through more relevant communication and more effective use of today's ever-changing delivery methods and technologies. What we are not. Livefish is not a nonprofit or a charity. We don't work for free. We work with clients who have budgets, who are passionate about the organizations they represent and who are serious about communicating; Clients who are happy to pay for expertise, for our full attention and for results, but never for agency overhead.
